WELW was founded specifically to serve the residents of Cleveland’s rapidly growing eastern suburbs in eastern Cuyahoga, Lake, and northern Geauga Counties.
By 1965, this ... See more area’s population enjoyed a dramatic increase as prosperous Cleveland residents constructed new homes and started new businesses in our eastside lakeshore communities.
Geauga and Lake County continue to be ranked numbers one and three, respectively, in the state’s per capita income.
The eastern Cuyahoga suburbs 1330 AM covers, like Bratenahl, Pepper Pike and Shaker Heights, are considered among Northeast Ohio’s finest communities.
WELW is also the radio home of the Southern Atlantic League division champion Lake County Captains.
2003 marked the first year of WELW’s exclusive radio broadcasts of all games.
WELW is also home to Friday and Saturday night High School Football Games of the Week.
