Owned and operated by Virginia Tech, it is a sister station to the region's flagship NPR station, WVTF, and is operated out of WVTF's studios in Roanoke.

It is licensed to Christiansburg, Virginia; near Virginia Tech's campus in Blacksburg.

Radio IQ's programming is repeated on WFFC, 89.

9 FM in Ferrum, Virginia and WVTW, 88.

5 in Charlotteville, Virginia, and a handful of low-power translators across central and western Virginia.
